About project

Since 2006, the real museum has been functioning in the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. It is situated in the historic buildings of the late 16th – the first half of the 17th century. NaUKMA Museum (Historical Studies Educational Laboratory) is a research, science and information, cultural and educational structural unit of the University that preserves and promotes the monuments of Ukrainian history and culture related to the history of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy through incorporation of the book, archive, museum, and documentary collections of the University.

In October 2015, celebrating the 400th anniversary of Kyiv Mohyla Academy, the NaUKMA Museum opened its first permanent exhibition reflecting the past of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (the 17th-19th centuries) and the NaUKMA’s rebirth and development from 1991 to the present day. All the exhibits are presented and donated by the staff, students, and graduates of the NaUKMA, as well as by the supporters of the NaUKMA Museum. However, the NaUKMA Museum does not have the authority for claiming Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Heritage artefacts to be returned from other institutions where they are currently maintained, and therefore seeks to present this heritage in copies and, in particular, using the online space.
